The first and only kart I've ever owned was a 2008 Tony Kart EVX with the standard brakes. I have no problem feeling the brake pedal and they feel extremely progressive to me. Very easy to know when they are going to lock up once I spent enough time behind the wheel.

Provided everything is working as it should mechanically give it some time before you start changing out equipment. Just my .02 coming from racing many different kinds of sports cars before I got into karts. The Tony's brakes are comparable to most high end sports cars I've driven.

Seat time before equipment.

lowered pedal connection, mounted 206mm rotor and tested with sintered OTK pads - works real good, greatly improved feel! target achieved.
