|
|
Today I've just installed two brand new SwedeTech Honda CR-125 accessories!!!
To take the picture, and do the installation, I just removed the engine mount butterfly clamps and tilted the engine away from the seat. So simple even I could do it!!!
Stator Cover:
On the left side of the picture is the stator cover which has just been approved for production. It is made of stainless steel and precision cut and stamped for a perfect fit. It comes with the appropriate fasteners which are low profile stainless steel button head cap screws. Don't over tighten them as stainless steel is a little softer than steel and you don't want to strip the screw allen head.
Functionality reigns supreme as it incorporates a number of key elements:
1) "Scoop" provides cooling airflow to the stator to prolong its life.
2) "Scoop" is also low profile and doesn't protrude any further than the stator bolt so seat clearance isn't an issue.
3) Covers the stator and protects it from your drivers suit and any other personal items such as fingers, etc... It also minimizes the chance of any foreign material getting into the stator area when you have an off track excursion. Other stator covers have a large hole exposing most of the stator minimizing their effectiveness.
4) Central hole in the "scoop" provides access to the stator bolt and provides the lowest profile possible for maximum seat clearance.
5) "Window" cutout for clutch cable enables installation without having to disconnect the cable.
6) Small cutout in lower right side allows water and any other debris a way out.
Note: Being that this is a pre-production R & D unit, the final design may differ very slightly.
Case Saver:
Just to the right of the stator cover is the gold/yellow anodized aluminum case saver. As the name implies, it's there to save your left side case in "case" your chain breaks and prevents chain wear on the clutch lever boss. As with the stator cover, it comes with the appropriate fasteners for installation. In my picture it shows it mounted with a 19t front driver and chain, and yes as you can see it's a tight fit, but it works and has clearance. This tight clearance isn't an issue with any other smaller size front driver due to their smaller diameter.

EZ-Clip:
The EZ-Clip has been around for awhile and I've had mine for over 2 yrs. It comes with two of the spring type E clips and I'm still on my first one. This has got to be one of the best Spec Honda innovations as it's a knuckle saver and makes changing the front driver super easy & fast!!!
Note: The EZ-clip shown in my picture below is a sprint racing model, not the road racing model.

p.s. - The engine shown below is a 1999.
p.p.s. - I used wavy type spring washers under all the bolts as well as blue Loctite. I know, I know, I'm kinda OCD about stuff falling off mykart...

Case saver is a good idea if running a flat sprockets, however will never use flat sprockets again after the offset sprockets are now available in 19, 20 and 21T. These clear the cases and the chain won't wear/heat/rub or steal HP against any cases or case saver. Just my opinion but good to use the case saver if you have the 19T flat sprocket fitted. _________________ www.samzavaglia.com |

Where do you get the offset sprockets? Do they work with the ezclip? |

Todd,
SwedeTech makes the EZ-clip for both sprint & road racing applications. Here's the link for the road racing one. Probably not a bad idea to use the road racing one for any 19t or bigger front driver...

Thanks Ken. What about the offset sprocket though - is that something different? |
