Hey Stu
Very sad news. Bought my first kart from Bobby's Dad back in the day and raced at the track with the Haun family.

Today is a very sad day. My sympathies go out to the entire Haun family. Bobby was instrumental in our famly's love for this sport. His warm welcoming smile at East Lansing Kart Track will be missed. _________________ Mark Ouimet |

We got started at ELKT and have raced there for the last 5 years -
My son took driving lessons from Bobby when we started
We put one of his Silver Bullet Yahama engines on the podium at the
2011 Man Cup at MRP, and again this year at the Route 66 race at MRP in
Jr sportsman
We owe a lot to Bobby - we will miss him - |

Bob was a great friend and resource not only for those who wanted to race - but also to those who just wanted to come out and enjoy karts and the track to the best of their abilities.
ELKT had a regular and abundant practice schedule and Bob was always there to welcome you and give advice when needed. He had great warmth for those who just wanted to come and have fun - regardless of speed and abilities. He always remembered that first and foremost karting is supposed to be fun.
This is a tremendous loss to the Michigan karting community. _________________ Mark Silverberg

tough, tough loss! been a difficult couple days. my thoughts and prayers to Lisa and the kids.
Bobby embodied what all aspiring racers wanted to be. Desire, Passion, and a love for the sport. Yet he kept at a personal level and made it FUN! And, he believed, with passion, in karting at the local level before moving on and fought to keep it. We need more people in karting like Bob Haun. Michigan kart racers realize that a road to success is through East Lansing. That is a credit to the entire Haun family. But Bob, was the heart of the track.
Thanks to Bob, Jeff Jr. has tasted some success. Bob built our first 2-cycle engines, a rocket! We bought our first NEW kart from Bob. Bob gave Jr his first driving lessons - and more. We only raced at ELKT for a few years, but were looking forward to return and visit - he last said our pit spot was always there for us.... Always supported Jr and my family - Kristy started singing National Anthems at East Lansing. Had some GREAT times - I wish I knew you were at PRI.
Thanks Bob! Going to miss you...
Long Live the Silver Bullet! |

| Saturday will certainly be a tough day. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lisa, the kids and the entire Haun family. Bobby was so good at providing a club that really understood what karting is supposed to be about! He kept it simple....Fun! He will be missed greatly. Godspeed my friend and long live the Silver Bullet. |

Saddest news I've had in a long time. I will really miss him. My prayers go out to his wonderful family.
From a selfish standpoint, I was looking to having my kids attend his racing school this summer.
