|
|
Just picked up a Mid 90's Laydown that a TAG engine I have sitting in my garage will look good on. My short term plan is to just play with it at NOLA Motorsports Park when we open and maybe a race or 2 that are close by.
Planning on a belt drive, for my use can I get away with the Leopard clutch with a belt drive and what should I look out for? What sort of peak RPM should I be looking for with this engine on a road course?
Also looking for a nose or complete body work any suggestions? |

Mitch,
Try Ken Johnson or Tim Kyser re: the clutch set up. I would think a driver from Hegar and a axle clutch would be the ticket for road racing. The Henry's in Wichita KS make a very nice body.

mitch: What chasis were you able to pick-up ?
Both Bruce Peck and Ken Johnson's web-site on the TAG -e projects are certainly worth a look at for those interested . Lots to be LEARNED there.
Can someone post their links PLEASE ?

Hey Bruce,
If you want to zip the files from your site and send them to me, I can publish your TaG-E site in a subdirectory at tag-enduro.com. _________________ -Ken Johnson

I now have 2 chassis i Margay laydown and the other I am working on figuring who built it. I have photo's but can't figure out how to post them. if anyone would like to help me identify what I have e-mail me and I will send over the pictures mitch@nolamotor.com
One is getting my Tag engine the other I would like to get 150BRC which I can also use for our Open sprint class or throw a ICC engine on it.

Looks to me like an Elite chassis from the bolt-on steering upright. I also noticed the "Cyclone" sticker on the heat shield/belt guard. It could be a Cyclone chassis as well. Both are from the N.E. (Elite now in Georgia), either way it should make a good ride.
