|

Guys,
I have an older Haase Blizzard chassis. I need the setup guide to it. I want to make sure it is setup correctly. I'm setting up a newer kart for myself and my dad is going to drive the Haase. Since I don't know anything about its history, I just want to make sure the seat is in the right place, etc. If anyone has a source for a setup guide for that chassis, please let me know.
Thanks,
Todd |

You might have trouble finding something current for an older chassis, but I would say for your Dad, set it up so it's comfortable for him. Seat bottom even with the bottom of the frame rails, back edge of seat a little forward of the front of the rear axle (1/4-1/2"), seat back angle about 55-60 deg.
I assume your Dad hasn't run many shifters, so make it comfortable for him to drive. If and when he feel ok in it, then start moving stuff around. Eg: hubs, bars, axles, struts, camber, castor, seat position, etc.
Seat time, more then anything else is important. He won't be driving it fast enough where initial setup will make much difference.
Tell him to have fun, and get a few sprints in before the WKA/WKC road race season starts next year.
Father/Son stuff is pretty neat!! I know from experience! Have fun.

Clark,
Thanks for the advice. I agree with everything you said. I was just looking to get a good base setup on the kart before I hand it over to him.
Thanks again.

A couple other thoughts. Put standard pills in the front end, and the ride height, front and rear about in the middle. It's always a good place to start. That's usually what the factory does. Might not hurt to scale it while you're at it. Maybe 43-45% front weight, and within 5 pounds side to side (with your Dad in it of course)!!
Have fun. |
