To commemorate the 20th year of Superkarts! USA in the MidWest Region, National Karting Alliance and MidWest ProKart Challenge has put together a discount incentive package geared towards the Open Shifter class.
The first 10 drivers, who held a SKUSA membership in 1993 and is a current member, can enter the Open Shifter class for $20 per event day! ($40 for a double event weekend) That translates to a savings of $130 per weekend.
In addition, if the points champion after round six meets the same criteria, National Karting Alliance will match the current $1,000 to win prize in the Open Shifter class.
“That’s $2,000 to win on the line at Shifter Fest”, stated Stan Bryniarski MWPKC series director. When I first came up with the idea, I placed a call to a person who would appreciate the concept, Joe Janowski of National Karting Alliance. As soon as I explained the idea, He immediately replied “I’m in! I might even have to jump back into a kart and defend my sponsorship” he quipped. “It would be great to see some of the original SKUSA members back together”, he added.
That is what it is all about with the inclusion of the Open Shifter class on the MWPKC tour. The Open Shifter class is the place where you can race that Built Moto, ICC/KZ, TM, 80cc, even a stock moto in a Midwest sprint series.

The class criteria is simple,
• Entry fee is $20 per race day to the first 10 drivers at each event who meet the requirements.
• Driver must be a current member and have been a member of Superkart! USA in 1993.
• Discount entry fee only applies to the Open Shifter class.
• Qualified interested drivers need to contact the series director stan@superkartsusa.com to enter prior to the events pre-entry deadline.
• Class Champion will be determined by points awarded over the six-race series (One drop)
• Open Shifter class is open to non-members at the full advertised entry price.
• Class must average 10 entries per race.

Current Open Shifter Championship purse is now,
*First place- $2,000
Second place- $500
Third place- $250
* First place pays $1,000 if class champion is not a current member and did not hold a membership in 1993.

In addition, a participation based prize package has also been structured to reward event weekend champions as well.
