Well here is another newbie question.. I noticed on the kart I just picked up that the chain appears very loose (engine adjuster bolts are all the way out) and I still have well over an inch of slack...Not sure if the chain has stretched or slack was left in order to accommodate different sprockets...

I'm thinking of replacing the chain anyways..But would like to know how you guys determine when the chain is done... I'm familiar with chain links binding and chain stretch on a motorcycle.. But not sure on the kart with so much adjustment??

Also looking for recomend action regarding which chain to buy.. It's a rotax on a birel chassis.. I have been told its probably a 219 how can I confirm?? Can anyone recommend a preferred chain manufacturer...I have used DID on my bikes... W/master link.. Also anyone make a master link setup for a 219 chain??

Any help would be appreciated..Thank you[/i]

Yes should be a 219, 99.9% of them at least are 219.

I always use panters made in germany very well done.

Tension on the chain 1/2 inch aprox.
