Hi my names rick and I just bought my first kart in 13 years and I will be running world formula. My question is..... the cht sensor on my mycron 4 is a much larger diameter then the world formula spark plug. I'm assuming you would mount it on a cylinder head bolt then? If so does briggs make a studed cylinder head bolt for a wf? It doesn't seem like a good idea to have it under a head bolt?

Mychron makes a 10 mm CHT sensor. I know Comet has them so I assume Laukaitis, Riekens and all the others will also

I'll be racing in the New Hampshire kart series. Can't wait, I've waited a long time to get back into kart racing! Wf seems like a perfect fit for me!

Glad to hear there is some WF racing in the East. WF has grown (and still growing) to be the largest class here in Phoenix and also the largest class at Tri-C Karters in Fontana,Ca. Good ,close,competitive racing where the driver is usually the difference, Both PKRA and Tri-C clubs are traditionally 2 cycle IKF tracks but the WF has really taken hold. WF racers did not come from other classes but for the most part are new racers that finally have an affordable,reasonably fast class to race in. Some moved over from the dirt oval next door to PKRA as they preferred 4 cycles and the dirt speedway was the only place they could race them until the WF class got going at the sprint trrack.

I raced oval from age 13-19, some of my best memories growing up! I have always wanted to get back into racing. They have always raced karts at n.h.m.s. so i decided to head up and check it out. I was verry impresed with the wf group. It was small but seemed to be growing. No brainer for me! I actually couldn't understand why everyone loved the rotax so much? Seems super finicky and way to expensive? I'm also very biased to 4 stroke! I hope that the class will continue to grow as people see how good the racing can be. My grandfather always said it's not the fastest racing that was best, but the closest!

Your grandfather is spot on. I'm probably older than him,get him a WF too!!!

I'll send you a PM given that this is a Mychron CHT thread but hello Ricky and welcome to racing WF with the NHKA http://nhka.net/

Looks like after three years we've hit critical mass with the WF class. There was a new face at almost every race, either with their own kart or renting from Mike Camarra http://www.cfmotorsports.com/Home.html. The word is that he'll be offering new Margay 4 cycle chassis for sale for a better WF package.

I think some of the TaG folks noticed that we spend more time running nose-to-bumper and less time fixing. We'll have a few converts next season along with more newbies. It didn't hurt that WF finished 2nd (327 laps) and 3rd in the 2 hour endurance race with TaG and shifters. Like Bernie said, get a WF kart for your grandfather.
