Sold stock Honda kosmick Sad used money to buy laydown F125. The airline I work for at one time we were the top paid and best benefits in the industry. Now we are the lowest.. It's not a bad job but if I had a son that wanted to be an A&P I would try to steer him in another direction. Like a Mercedes mech..

I like the sit up better but I need to get used to the laydown. Plus it has a sprag and that is way different then a direct gear..

One of my classmates was a BMW technician and said it was horrible...

I love airplanes, and since I didnt want to join the AF (too low of chance to be a fighter pilot) I figured working on them will be the next best thing.

Thanks for the info though. Some say its a great career, others say its not...

Tim. Don't get me wrong. I really like my job, it's just that I have seen it go down hill as a mech. Major airlines were the way to go now the cargo planes are.. Ups or FedEx .. You work your butt off in the auto industry but that's how you make the money.. Are you getting a associate degree where your going??

The CR125 is a moto engine.. if it is stock, why can't we run 93 octane fuel?
What is different being on a kart that needs (from what I have heard) race gas mixed with some motul oil?

I guess I understand why mix the gas with the oil but why the high octane ?

Cesar

Due to pipe used, rev range and load placed on the motor you need higher octane then 93, spec fuel is MS98L.
If your club race allows open fuel C12 is better.

Venkat prettymuch nailed it.

Its "stock" only by name. The kart application experiences sustained loads, temps and RPMs in order of magnitude higher than that in a motocross setting. The pipe alone is enough to warrant moving to 96MON which is what MS98 is. Many run C12 when they can for a little extra protection from detonation. For sure any fuel you run you should aim for 96MON or above, below that you get into a bit of a gambling game and a piston cost a fair few gallons of fuel!
