I've never used that one, but I have used a MasterTune which is similar and works very well. _________________ Brian |

Hi Jason,
Have sold a couple units but have not tried using the MJA. Our experience is: when you settle on the correct main jet for your particular set up, you will find that there are main jets on either side of your selection that will work just as well. It might be difficult to establish the correct 'position' without adjusting 'in' or 'out' when looking for the sweet spot.
Lately I have selected main jet prior to driver going on track and this usually works throughout the event. If there is not a dramatic change in temperature during the event 2 or 3 main jet sizes will give the same performance.

I would not use one myself. The main jet, needle, and emulsion tube all work together. Adjusting one without looking at the effect of the others, while convenient, will not consistently be effective.
Also changing a jet is not that big of a hassle, and by changing a jet with a number you will have a precise, repeatable baseline for your notes. |

Would this not allow you to easily find the temperature at which the particular engine wishes to run at that day, and then you could then use that information when switching over to standard configuration, and mimic the results now knowing your proposed high temperature.
Seems like a really good way to find the top of a specific engines EGT, and then going back and try and guess and check, making your notes along the way.
Has anyone purchased one for a rotax, and found any good results learning?
If anyone feels like they were a waste, please send it my way, would love to test with this unit. |

I have one on a DD2. It works very well you can dial into the sweet spot very quickly regardless of weather track conditions etc. I don't think it's leagal for racing. You can read the # of turns out and go to the chart and match a fixed jet but not precisely it's only good for getting close. It's a great learning tool to see the effects of jetting and what's possible.
