Road racing on 9/7-8. Worth a long drive?

Ty, be a team player and promote the club, promote the region, PROMOTE THE RACE! Bremerton is an old WWII runway turned into a drag strip with a fast 1.5 mile temporary road course with a multiple track configuration capability available to the race director. The Shifter pilots are capable of turning sub 60 second times so set your Mychron parameters accordingly. The track is an old runway and the drag racers who use the old taxi way as their return road, our front straight, don't mind the bumps so keep that in mind. Also, going on and off the GHB (that's what they call that drag race track prep stuff, right?) makes for an interesting ride. PSRRA always assures us a relaxed atmosphere and a fun place to race. Historically there has been a buddy race to garner interest in our sport for those that have never tried kart racing. The fun that the buddy race brings is one of the best times of the weekend. Also, historically speaking, people used to step it up for some sort of a bbq potluck at days end. Is it worth the drive? It is so much safer than that piece of crap circuit in Texas that stole money from all that drove all the way to attend and we in the Northwest love the competition from our California cousins. Split costs with some other NCK runners and come play at our last race of the year. Many from here are thinking of doing the same at your last race of the year, and although Bremerton is no Infineon (even the parking lot at Infineon is better than Bremerton), we look forward to showing our Southern neighbors our Northwest hospitality.

John Sullivan has taken the initiative to throw his hat in the ring to organize/help organize an end of the season potluck after the Friday practice. Who can argue with the thought of beer, burgs and big stories for all to share! State your intentions to participate on the Portland Karting Association road race forum http://portlandkarting.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3246 so that they can get an accurate head count. We'll see you there!

It's not your normal rr track but it's really fun. Haul ass track around barrels with a good length straight, not a sprint track. I like it but I like to back it in from time to time. The kart that is. Wink
