I would like to buy a Honda Det Counter to be used on my Rotax 257. If someone has it with LED’s (a la Sam Zavaglia) that would be even better! Please contact me at larrydobbs@hotmail.com
Thanks,

Hi Larry,
Here's a link to Sammy's website. You can contact hime off there. I believe he can supply det counter and lights complete or just lights if you want to source your own counter and has paypal
Some of the other stuff he is doing with Michron is awesome - electronic power jet cutoff via shift lights etc. He is truly the master of billykart electronics!
good luck
Matt...

Hello,
We use it for a year now successfully.
We have choosen M6 stud for twin cylinder without counter.
The advantage is that the sensors are connected to AIM.
Reliable, easy to integrate and to adjust the sensitivity.

I was thinking of using one on the dyno for building ignition curves...

I have used the April detonation sensors, both the 8mm on the cylinder base and 6mm on the head and found them to give a good indication of detonation.
As Francis said, the sensitivity is adjustable and that is a good thing with a little knowledge.
The only thing I don’t like about them is the way the connector comes off the top of the nut. I suggest you put them on the base of cylinder to avoid damaging/hitting the connector with your arm and also avoid EMI from spark lead.
Regards
Allan |
