I am seriously looking at starting with a BS 206 for my rookie 13-year old step daughter. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
Thanks,

That's what my 14 year old daughter will be running this year. I don't think you can go wrong especially if they run the class at your track. Good power for a novice and you won't have to spend time messing with the engine so you can concentrate on driver coaching.

Lo206 is an awesome class they teach the drivers to be smooth. They are sealed engines so there is no blue printing and all the rebuilds are rebuilt at the Briggsandstratton factory. The 206 isn't boringly slow either they can be pretty quick with the right gearing and a good driver. The club I race
At runs MG IR tires which har very little grip and are very hard compound so they last for long times. 206 is also very cheap to run with long intervals between rebuilds (1-2 racing seasons) Im not sure about what club you would race at but they have their own requirements for the kart. You should before buying the kart to go out to a club race and see the turnout. A couple negatives about the 206 is they dont have a standardized set of rules between clubs and some clubs require an American made chassis unlike some European chassis so make sure you ask around before buying. The engine race ready is about$800 usually but last longer then any other engine
