Great job by Woodbridge Kart Club and WKA for putting on a good weekend of racing on the FULL course ! What a great facility and track.
Rodney Smith and Brandon Taylor ran a great show. Little less heat next time, please !! Congrats to Kelly Lawrence in his Formula 125 win and his Unlimited I win. He was dialed in, for sure.
We will be back. Thanks again WKC.

I want to echo what Tony said. We all had a great time. WKC/WKA did a very fine job. Thanks to everyone who worked to put on this event!
Congrats to Kelly Lawrence for his fine wins in F-125 and Unltd I, and to Scott Goodman for winning Unltd II.
WKC/WKA, I really hope it works out to put on a Full Course event in 2013. We want to do this again! _________________ Brian |

Nope. My Pavesi was faster than I was. Pavesi makes a fine dirt track motor

Great job WKC it was a well run weekend. Heat was not fun and the storm destroyed some stuff but still a good weekend.
Kelly was defiantly hooked up in the f-125 race. He always lies to me though. On the grid he is like "haven't been running well" "Can't seem to find a good balance." Than he goes out and smokes all of us. I did a little dirt tracking myself trying to get past lapped traffic but the GoPro ran out of batteries before that or it would have made good video.
Brian,
I use imageshack to post pics and it works great. You upload the pics to the site and it gives you tags for the forums. If you can't get it to work send me the pics and I can post for you. _________________ Jeremy Baldi

VIR is an awesome track and facility. On Friday Mother Nature sure did make sure to show us she still is in charge as that was some wild weather we rode out for awhile. Besides some damage curtailed some of the late afternoon fun, which I am glad nobody got hurt during the storms, I am certain the local stores sold out of E-Z Ups Friday night.
The entire WKC and WKA Crew put on one great event, the entries were great to see (we had our largest class in Stock Leopard since Daytona).
Although a broken header took its toll on me early Saturday, the race action Sunday between Gaynor, Taylor and myself was a season-to-date thrill I am sure to remember for years! Three wide for the checkered's and a .080 second split between first and second. Fast, clean, close and exciting!
Would have rekindled a new blog entry down here, but was so hot my laptop was not to happy about getting drenched in sweat, plus I don't think Howden and Cole are ready for me start hammering forum again.
Enjoyed the full course and hope to see that we'll be back on the same configuration (full course) in 2013. Thanks all for the hospitality- it was great meeting up with so many friends- and most certainly made some new ones. Fast, close, competitive racing. Great friendships, fun times and stories abound. ---- Lovin' Road Racing with you all! _________________ Jeff Wesell

Jeff, glad you enjoyed the racing in Leopard. You and Brandon were a hoot to race with too.
Hope you can make it to Summit in September. Should be the same cast of characters!!
Clark, the Old One!
Just a quick question. For those who have run both the Full Course and North Course at VIR, which do you prefer? Just so the WKC BOD has an idea. The Grand Course could present a problem due to the very high pricing. |

Prefer the grand course. Then full course, and lastly the north course. _________________ Noah Stark

I have not run on the the north course but have done a pace lap on it. Based on that, while the north seemed like it could be fun, the esses past the villas on the full track is a blast so north course gets it's vote for me.
It seems like a lot of the sprint guys love the grand course. I will say I didn't like the grand at all in a lay down. It was impossible to see and the corners were so tight and slow the lay down just didn't like it. It also made the track have no rhythm at all. It felt like you were on one track turned onto the small sprint track next to it and than go back on a road course. _________________ Jeremy Baldi

| I'm with Jeremy on the course choice. Full course is better than any other combination. Like I said at the driver's meeting at Mid-Ohio, the Full course is worth the trip. I didn't enjoy the Grand course at all for the same reasons Jeremy mentioned and the North course is practically all esses which gets old. |

I looked over the mylaps, and it looks to me like, once again, there seems to be a resurgence in the Yamaha laydown classes. IMO, this is great to see. Don't know why it's happening but hope it continues. _________________ Keep on kartin' llb.
