Alex birth cert is optional annd doesn't even need to be real if presented.

+1 to open wheel but I'd hate to see him "forced" there and have oppotunities he's interested in cut off.

It may be to his advantage that no one as far as I know has ever been reinstated after the recovery program. Seems to me they need a success in order to prove it's authenticity.

that's what I hear. But I think it would be far more difficult for him to attain a birth certificate in Arizona, he should try Hawaii.

I didn't follow his pro/car career but saw that - as IndyCar was coming down - he seemed to have the upper hand before making a switch. It would be good to have an American hero on top of IRL, wait, is he American?

But I can also see that if he plays the cards right...he could have a very nice comeback at NASCAR...

Saw where he has a standing offer for a grand-am ride after his whatever is done. Whether or not he's getting paid is another matter.

Brian he has a very close association with Michael Shank. He's even a co-owner of Shank's Indy Car team that Randy Bernard seemed to breath new life into this week. I'm sure that door would always be open, except that it's owned by NASCAR so a suspension in one would be a suspension in the other, and suspension lifted would mean abiloity to return to stock cars.................

AJ has given his side of the story. Looks like he had a little lapse in judgement rather than having a true substance abuse problem.

Sounds to me that the whole ordeal is ridiculous. What exactly does this mean? Can people with ADHD not race NASCAR? Adderall is a prescription pill given to people with ADHD symptons to help them concentrate. Not a drug, not an illegal substance, not anything that would hinder on track performance. Seems like a pretty harsh reason to take away someones career.

I personally hope he takes a ride in IndyCar. I'm tired of the soap oprah Nascar has became. jmo!

Sorry, that honor goes to cyclist Tyler Hamilton who tried to claim the reason he had two different people's blood in his system was due to inutero vanishing twin syndrome.

That said, I don't believe AJ either.

[quote="Andrew M. Coulter"]Can people with ADHD not race NASCAR? Adderall is a prescription pill given to people with ADHD symptons to help them concentrate.[quote]Sure they can. If someone needs it and it is prescribed by a Dr. there are usually ways to getting banned substances approved for theraputic use. The problem comes when you take one given to you by your drinking buddy's friend.

[quote="Andrew M. Coulter"]not an illegal substance,[quote]When you take it without a prescription it most certainly is.

[quote="Andrew M. Coulter"] Seems like a pretty harsh reason to take away someones career. [quote]He broke the rules. It's a banned substance and he took it. Worse still he took it so he could have a fun night out drinking with the boys. If he needed it for health reasons and forgot to let the NASCAR Drs. know, it would be somewhat understandable. Kinda blows his earlier claims that he's super-careful about what he puts in his body, doesn't it?

Who in there right mind is going to take a pill handed to you and not know what it is. I know I wouldnt. I am drug tested once a month because of my job and I very aware what I can and cant take. When your lively hood depends on it you dont trust nobody. Its a shame he tossed his career in the crapper for a lapse of judgement. I was really happy he got the ride and was looking for great things for AJ.
