It's been long enough since we talked about this that new and potential new karters haven't seen it. So, here's a post about it and a link to the PDF:
http://abqautoxer.com/SoloKartingNewbieFAQ.pdf
Please keep this post at the top if possible.
PS - anyone want to take the lead on a Junior Karting FAQ I can host along with this? |

| Thanks. I'm of course hesitant to put in a jetting guide due to the idea if it caused the loss of a motor, it could cause some grief and then there is the debate if the guide is a good one or not. I'll find some way to link it in there. |

Best Jetting guide ever for a newbie guide....... talk to someone who knows about your brand of motor (ICC) or your motor builder (Moto stuff)... anything else is asking for trouble _________________ Jason Vehige

Meh, Not always. I was told my motor "isn't very sensitive to jetting, Just run it the way it is." And then it wouldn't idle for crap, and was.. mushy on the top end. <shrug> That guide gave me at least an idea of where I should be for various conditions once I was in the ballpark It's not perfect but it's been a pretty good guide. That being said I have had to make a bunch of plug readings, EGT logging, etc with the help of an old motocross guy to confirm that I'm close. _________________ 2002 Birel CR32V/ StockMoto w/PI |

Agree with Jason. After I contacted an ICC motor builder that actually races these things. He told me I need this this and this when it's cold out do this when it's hot do this. I said "fine send me all that" and the motor has been fantastic ever since. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

Doh, Let me clarify, that wasn't from an engine builder, that was from the previous owner. I would absolutely follow the advice of my engine builder(except when it's me) _________________ 2002 Birel CR32V/ StockMoto w/PI |
