Care to elaborate? I met him a few years ago and although it was a very brief meeting, he seemed ok...but then again, I wasn't holding a microphone Laughing

Let me guess, its because Stewart said its not a national holiday because Jr won?

After saying such an incredibly horrible thing, Stewart had better start wearing a bullet proof vest. Every red neck in the country is going to be looking to strap him to their hood. Rolling Eyes

Stewart and Jr. are good friends. I don't think Stewarts comment was a dig at Jr. as much as it was at the media. I think his comment was more in defense of Jr. by saying that the guy has won races and is plenty capable of winning races so why is everyone so shocked when he does.

yes, they're close friends.
I think the comment was cover for the fact that he let the guy win!

Tony won't ever LET anyone win. He even said before he would wreck his own mother to win a race. Given the Chase bonus points for wins and the Wild Card spots, wins are more important than ever.

Yea a man who gives so much back to his racing roots by owning race teams, tracks, sponsoring so many up and coming drivers is such an a$$ hole. Don't forget the millions he gives to charity every year. Meet the man and have a conversation with him before you call him a a$$hole. Some people

Bet?

I'll even be the one to ask him!
There was nothing bigger in NASCAR for years. JR winning was good for everybody in NASCAR.
I got 3 emails from tracks offering me to buy tickets all railing about JR.
Smoke is a team player.............

and I doubt if he would still run over his mom to win Smile

I used to think the same, until I read his biography. Changed my perspective a bit...

This "some people" has met Tony and raced against him in karts at New Castle during a promo event. He makes a mighty fine BBQ sauce. Cool
