Im 59 young, started racing karts really racing not just in the yard with a fox kart and a homelite engine. Switched to Mac 6, 7, etc etc. moved up to a rupp and then a Margay new breed! Actually owned the first front wheel brake Margay. Then moved to enduro with a hornet and ended up with a Van K and 100cc Yamaha! Got married and divorced! Now back into a shifter and cr125.
My question is does anyone know or remember George Righter or his sons Wayne and Tommy? George builty motors for years and kept me up front in the east coast IKF Series. In fact, I was a four state champion in juniors! Can't find any archives on those years though!
Anyway, just asking about old memories!
Thanks
Ace

Hi Ace. Oh yeah, thats a name I have not heard in quite a few years myself. I think the last time I saw George was at Summit Point back in the mid/late '70's. If you can give me some time, I may be able to sort through some of my old karting mags to see if the family has any pics or mention in articles. Like many, I've lost touch of folks I used to regularly race with when my father had his kart shop in Md. and I relocated to Florida in '78. With only a coupla years age difference between the two of us, we have a lot of "whatever happened to's" when it comes to folks we were accustomed to seeing so regularly when what seems to be not so long ago. -Alan-

Sorry to say, George passed away a few years ago. He had Alzheimer's and was in a nursing home for a short while before he died. His sons Tom and Wayne are still around and doing fine, last I heard. Ace, send me a PM and I'll fill you in on more details. I distinctly remember George mentioning your name.
