Thanks for everyone's input.

I heli-coiled the head and double nutted the studs. When I drilled the hole where the stud came out there seemed to be JB Weld (or something similar) in there.

I ran the kart the other night for 25 laps (.8 mile course) and everything stayed on and stayed tight.

Hi Bill,

There are different length Heli-coils. The longer ones always seem to work better for me.

If the Heli-coil gives up, take a look at Pete Muller's brass inserts. They last forever.
