You have no idea! I saw him creeping up there the whole race and was on the edge of my seat! Haha. He was my wildcard pick and he almost made it happen |

I just cannot appreciate this "Tire strategy" racing !
Why cant we get back to some simple car/driver competition ?
Button is an equal to any of those on the podium, but was not even on the same lap ! ( and he is known to be easy on tires ?)
This is more like a lottery than a race !
( and i am a Hamilton fan !) _________________ Chad

Chad,
I couldn't agree more. It is silly to call it racing when the cars are doing laps 8 seconds a lap slower than they qualify. Can you imagine how boring that has to be for the drivers?
Sure, they start with a lot of fuel but the pace they have to race at to save the tires is just rediculous.
They need to bring back Michelin and Bridgestone and run some real races.

Michael Schumacher told us in German TV, in some curves he only have to give 60% speed to save the tires. Sure, that’s downright ridiculous and not Formula 1 like.
Well Chad, This is more like a lottery than a race. It would help matters, if we have multiple tire manufacturers.

Button? How is Button the equal of anyone if he couldn't run fast on either type of tire? _________________ A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. -- Winston Churchill. |

Finally! People are talking a bit of smack!
Gotta agree that I'd rather see more tire manufacturers involved, if only to see the teams doing testing that could reasonably be interpreted. Of course, that would require open tire rules and a lack of contractual obligations - not too likely.
I dono about Button, but I still give his chicky serious props for the pic of her, um, hand, um, placed somewhere dark. Way cool.
Oh, and Bob, they'll be fixed before the next race. Humble apologies... |

We've been down this road before folks. If you have a tire war then the way for a mfg to "win" is to put all its resources into a single team and screw the other customers, like Bridgestone did with Ferrari circa 2002-2004. That gave us some of the most boring racing EVER unless you were a Schuey fanboy or had a closet full of red wigs.
And one tire mfg usually ends up with a better product and that leaves 1/2 the field screwed for pace. Imagine if you showed up at a sprint race stuck with mojos while 1/2 the field got to wear MG yellows. Good racing?
The fact is that the last few years have been pretty good, with championships coming down to the wire and cars actually passing for position (gasp) after the first 2 laps. This year we have 7 different winners in 7 races. Enjoy it and quit whining. |
