In looking a the "pledge" options, I can't imagine how more manufacturers, retailers or teams are jumping all over this thing! There's only one big $$ taker that can see the advertising jackpot here?!
The potential for this thing is awesome - but time is in the second half and the $$ isn't - come on folks - this is for all of us as "karters"! Let's make this happen! The project title should say it all! |
Troy, that's are true words. I'm just a little karter from across the pond, from Germany. I've already pledged. But where are the many US karters? Where are the big manufacturers, the big teams and retailers from the USA?
I've just posted in two German karting forums and have presented that projekt there. Look right here:

I don' know if anyone will pledge. But it's a serious attempt.
Warmest regards,

Hey Kyle,
Good question. I have a very technical layout in an excel spreadsheet that outlines my costs for everything as best as I could with current pricing for equipment. Ill need to simplify it for everyone to see though so give me a little time im covered up and its just another thing to add to the list.
Sorry to everyone for leaving this thread for so long, just been crazy busy trying to get the photos up from the weekend as well as staying on top of the paying work so im still around to shoot this thing when it comes together
| Kyle Prokup wrote: | | I think this would be awesome for the sport, but $40k is not a lot of money for any film that aims to hit the big screen. Phantom's and Red EPICS are extremely expensive equipment to use or rent, and I think a budgeted, sustainable plan is something that should be available for potential supporters to see |
Remember that while im trying to do everything for this project that I can, at this point I dont have the funding built into the project to market for the big screen other than my initial screening for a select few after the film is completed. I dont want to mislead anyone into thinking that im trying to take this across the USA and put it in every theater out there. While id love to... $40k is just nowhere near the budget for that at this point. And yes you are correct in that Phantoms and Epics are in no way cheap.
The Become One Kickstarter link that initially circulated Facebook has garnered nearly 1000 likes. $50 from each of these people would blow the budget out of the water. If you've got friends that liked the link, try and encourage them to donate just a little bit as well.
Thanks everyone for the support. Im trying as many ways as I possibly can to get this thing across every karter in the nation, but I cant do it without everyone putting it out there as well. I will say my supporters are kick ass and I appreciate everything they do, now we just need a lot more!

I do have some great news however from over the weekend. MG Tires is coming through in a big way and supporting the project with donating 60 sets of tires. Im still talking to them about the details, but my plan is to set up a new bracket that costs $225 that rewards you with a set of tires and the 1080P download.
Wagner with MG is behind it and we are working to figure everything out as far as what color tires and shipping. After that Ill be able to post it up and you can change your pledge if you'd like to get this reward.
I cant thank MG enough as it will for sure add significant funding. Watch this spot on an update on when thats open. Remember, its limited to the first 60.
Thanks Everyone! |

John, I am a club level racer and race very few regional races. I live pay check to pay check and what little I have left go into my racing. BUT when I get the chance I will be glad to help you out. Your work and love for the sport just blows me away. Please don't give up. money is a hard thing for some of us racers to give up right now but I know some like myself will help when we can. Thanks for all your efforts _________________ St. louis Mo. |

John, thank you for this film. I have made a pledge which is reasonable for me, and I think the footage you have so far is brilliant. I think this film needs to happen, and from the trailer I saw, I think you are approaching this in the perfect manner. We are way past due for a legitimate karting documentary. This film could be a instrumental motivational tool in the growth of karting in America, and I have been urging everyone I know to get involved. Again, thank you, and the best of luck to you. _________________ -Britton Frost

If I would be a kart manufacturer I would speculate how I could hire this movie maker. It’s could not be a better advertising for me.
I have it also on my own website now. Look here

Jon...thanks for stepping up with such a generous pledge. This is what this is all about. You don't think it's much, but every pledge is so important. If everyone posted what they 'didn't think was much', the film would reach the funding goal so quickly! _________________ Rob Howden

I think this project is extraordinary and will benefit the sport and all of us who play in it immensely. I'm in. I challenge all the G1/S4 drivers out their to get involved. Perhaps we can have a challenge by class to see which class can raise the most!
