If you still got that engine in UK, I'm assuming it's getting packed in your luggage for next weekend. Wink

Did you lose a cylinder bolt somewhere?

Hi Gerry

Yes, Castrol A747 is easily available in the UK and in Aus and sold in their "Supercheap" car spares supermarkets.

Surely must be available in the US, without doubt the finest high performace race 2-stroke oil for use with Leaded race fuel and Avgas.

this might be a good place to start: http://www.facebook.com/castrolusa/timeline?filter=2

Best Regards

Ian

My old supply line from my bike racing days gone past:

http://www.rscycles.com/images/chemicals/chemicals.htm

"This Oil has been Discontinued."

My understanding is one would have to import it by the case load via slow boat.

They are just nicely run in and ready to go (15 mins running)!!

Of course, not forgetting the other 4 piston kits that I wore out on the dyno!! Twisted Evil

John/Gerry: 747 is not shown on the Swedetech website: http://www.shopswedetech.com/category_s/6.htm

Perhaps Castrol decided you yanks don't deserve it Wink

Best Regards

Hi Sam

That looks horrible, did you mix the 976 with porridge instead of fuel? You could have washed all the vapourised aluminium off the plugs first. Laughing Laughing

909 is the one the men are using now.

According to a reliable source it looks like 747 has now also been discontinued in Ozz!!

Anyone in the land of upside down got a spare bottle or 3 for PI?

Best Regards

Ian Very Happy

Ian,
I saw Castrol A747 in Supercheap the just the other day while was getting some MTX gear oil. A747 on the Supercheap shelf for $40 Aussie dollars per litre/bottle. Have your boys downunder to get off their asses.....

BTW, my plugs are 6 meetings old (since they are nearly $100 each) and pistons shown are after 3 race meetings (approx 300klms).
Actually this is the last race before the photo was taken of my pistons.

I too get the exact same look as yours when brand new pistons have just been on the dyno. Wink
