| Has anyone had any experience with the DID Gold on Black chain? If so, what was the durability compared to? |

We tested it many years ago.
The thing to look for with DID is that it is marked DHA. DHA is a hardening process. It is available on black/gold or all gold chain.
Both colors are also available as standard chains.
To answer the original question the black/ gold (typically non-DHA in US) will not last well on a Yamaha. Forget using it on a direct drive or TaG engine.
To solve any quality of product we use the RK chain. It is only available in the high quality type. IMHO it is better quality than any of the DID products.

I use the O-Ring chains for the TaG stuff. They're expensive, but gaurantee you wouldn't be replacing them often. _________________ www.checkeredmotorsports.com

I agree, the RK o-ring is the best then the DID DHA. Both are good chains. Make sure you lube the DHA every time out with good quality chain lube.

Jim, Which RK chain exactly? I'm looking for a non O-ring 219 chain. I did a search on your site but no joy.

Personally I use the cheap sprockets. They are machined well and the material holds up fairly well compared to the US or Japanese products. At less than $15 they are a great value.
The steel sprockets last a really long time in running conditions. However they seem easier to bend than the aluminum due to the machining to make they light. If you don't drop off the track and always run the same teeth this is the way to go for longevity. Can last all year.

Kelly,
You should also note that chain tension is important with the RK since it is a little more difficult to set (O-ring). Make sure you move it up and down with your hand to get a good idea of the tension. Too tight and it will reduce the life of your sprockets and possibly reduce horsepower or cause chain bind. The RK as with the DHA stretch so after you run any new chain you will have to re-adjust for the second outing but you should be good to go after that.
The RK chain is pretty amazing.....
Thanks,
Michael Valiante

| I had exceptional experience with CZ chain. It is 219 non o-ring and good price. Currently see it on KartSportNA (Arrow distributor) website. |
