Hello,

There has been some questions before the holidays on the availability of the MG Reds (HZ) in size 6.0, which is the maximum size that juniors can run for the rear starting this year.

Two of the resellers checked with the importers today and confirmed there is no problem with the supply and they are always available.

The resellers are Rob Morris, 703-407-0081; and Chuck at Arsenal Racing, 877-570-RACE. Chuck mentioned he can do free shipping if you purchase 4, and Rob always offer good price as well.

Thanks.

I remember reading that the Hoosier R60 was being considered. Is this still being discussed or are only the MG Reds legal?

Hi Pete, since the supply problem of the 6.0 MG reds is really a false alarm, currently only MG Reds are allowed. However, for local competition, you are allow to run out of your old tires before you are required to run MG reds. So if you have some tires left there is no immediate requirement to get new reds.

The yahoo FJ forum is doing a group buy of MG Reds planned for February. Get hold of Scott or Brian or respond to the forum to get on the list if you want to take the advantage of it.

As far as Hoosier R60A is concern, the KAC will certainly discuss this in our next meeting. I can't speak for the rest of the folks, but the last KAC group did spent time and decide the rules with a lot of considerations. So in general I am not in favor of making a rule and change it right away unless there is a really a reason. In this case we definitely have to discuss it because a contingency plan for the lack of MG red supply has to be there; in fact, Dunlop was also put in the mix because they might offer some incentives for the Junior group in addition of Hoosier. We will definitely discuss all angles but I do not know if we will come to a conclusion immediately; especially since the Reds are available.

Thanks Pete! See you out there in a few months.

Which Yahoo forum is that? I thought I was on that one, but I don't see any activity since September.

Sorry, it's on the WDCR_scca_fj group, not the main jr group. If anyone from outside of the Mid-Atlantic is interested in this buy, let me know, but shipping will be additional.

Just out of curiosity, is everybody finding their MG Reds without any problem? Just want to make sure we don't have any issues getting the right tires.

Thanks! Wink

FYI - I received this note from the general manager of MG of US. My question was asking for the availability of MG Reds in 6.0, and if so can it be shown on the website.

**************************

My name is Luis Ruibal, I'm General Manager at WR International, Inc / MG Tires USA.
We are in a process of launching our US MG Tires web site; I believe it will be on line beginning of next week.
In the coming days you'll see more and more reseller offering this tire on line; it's in stock and fully available.

MG reds in size 6.0 is now widely available and it's now reflected on the MG website.

http://www.mgtires.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1834

Many of the resellers also carry the inventory on their website as well.

Special thanks to Luis at MG Tire for making the inventory available and website update!

Our local guy Rob Morris has decided to drop his dealer status, so I can no longer do anything more than anyone else as far as a group deal...

Somebody else have an idea?

I called the two local dealers listed on the MG website, they tell me that no one uses MG Reds locally but one told me that he would order them if I'm not in a bug hurry so he could conbine my tires with a regular order, I can ask him if he would concider a special deal if we get a large order going.
