Chassis for the HPV class?...

I am going to be movning into the HPV class next year then i am buying a new chasis after one year in that class my Emmick is starting to get a bit old, but anyways, anybody have any opinoins on which chasis manufacture or chasis is good for the HPV class. Or what chasis are good in general?

I personally like the Margay with the HPV... I ran it in the WKA Manf. Cup and the package seemed to work quite well...
Brian Jacobson and Tim O'brien also use the Margay/HPV package in the Light class....

Daves High Performance shop in Temeula, CA (909)694-5306 is a Margay Dealer give them a call...

You will get many different answers to your question but one answer will be common...Get the kart from a local shop and they will cater to you more at the track and on the phone when you ask set-up questions!!!!!!!!

I would check out the Arrow AX6. They seem to run well at PC. Both Catherine Hackbarth and Curt Sanders have done well on those chassis. Get with Bill Pinzini....he's always at the track.

I had a chance to drive one(AX6) in the last KT100 race @ PC. The kart just works!! effortless to drive one.

You are going to get a hundred answers to this question and if you are going to be racing at PC then the support you would get from the Arrow guys up there is second to none. I would think about either the AX6 or the AX7. I ran the 7 when I was there and the kart worked great.

I would have to vote for the KRT line of karts(formerly known as Paul Tracy).

Speifically the 100cc Tracker. This was desined with two-stroke 100cc classes in mind, ie Yamaha and HPV. Its an excellent chassis with many tuning adjustments.

We won the HPV Lite Championship at Sugar River Raceway with one, and a Tracker won the Yamaha Lite championship in the Midwest Sprint Series. Trackers run well from club races all the way to nationals.

Check them out. You can get a KRT Tracker with excellent track support from CKT Motorsports in Elburn, IL. Give them a call at (630) 365-6733. As for Jim, Jerry, or Corey.

I would second the Kart Racing Technologies vote Kyle, but like David mentioned you might want to check out Arrow (or maybe even Trackmagic with Leading Edge, they are in Lodi). The Arrow package seems to be pretty big in your area, several run at Prairie City and you could get local support. (If you're interested in the KRT, No offense to Steve for the recommendations, but call Marc Zartarian here in California, he is KRT, check out the website, it's still under "transition" from Paul Tracy Karting, but the phone number's there... Marc has been great to deal with.)

As noted in my post about HPVers in Nor-Cal, I'll be running at Stockton, we'll have to do something with the seat I think (give you some padding so you fit better... I'm 5'10" 220 lbs.) but you're welcome to drive my KRT Tracker/HPV3. It's an older chassis (2000), so there will be "advancements" with a new one, but it would give you an idea. As mentioned above, the KRT/Paul Tracy Tracker has been quite successful across the country in a wide variety of applications, it might at least be worth a try! Let me know if you'd be interested in a test ride!

My opinion, buy an Arrow. I am biased though because I drive one. Best chassis I have ever driven. Driven Bug,Invader,High Rev,Margay,Emmick and a CRG. The only other kart I would consider would be an Alpha. If you are in the NorCal region there is plenty of track side support. If you want a test drive let me know. I know where you can get a very clean and straight used AX6 for around $1900. New I think they are $2500.

Brandon Adkins, Ryan Hamilton, and I have had some great success with the new INVADERS. Brandon and I ran at the HPV PRO race at Charlotte and we each got a third and I had a fifth. The chassis last long and are proven. Easy to tune, many adjustements, and they are always developing new things to get that extra tenth.

LOL David. There are 2 rear torsion bars, 2 clamps for the center of the kart right under the seat, 2 bolts for the 4th rail. also a front bar that is not removable. For instance on a 1 1/8 chassis i run all the torsion bars out, both bolts loose, both clamps off and a B axle with long hubs. This all for the sr. set-up. I also run no wider than 54 in. in the rear and 42 in. in the front.

They are easy to tune?? how many removable/clampable bars do they have now?

Just cut the frame and add a clamp is what it looks like. Not sure if the new ones are the same though. Hehe.

David if you want a kart with a lot of adjustments you should check out the Shamrock kart.

Kyle, go with the proven thing. The last time HPV was run competively in norcal, Tony and the magic were the top two with Alfonso and Yee. I don't think anyone could run with them consistently.

aright, MARGAY is the way to go... put an HPV on a margay and you will fly. they are great chassis and they just came out with a new kart. check it out, i know Margay is big in california, just check for a dealer and support around you. their website is.... www.margay.com or www.margaykarts.com
