I've been told by a couple diffrent SKUSA Pro drivers that most of them prefer the 08 RR chassis over the newer ones. If so, why would this be? I've got my eye on a 2011 & 2008 both in amazing condition from the Factory team, which one should I choose? _________________ The MGKT |

no body has answered you so...
why dont you ask the drivers that told you they liked the 08? i havent been on a new chassis as of late but most all the CRG do very little in the way of changes. mainly the cross bar at the rear seems to change from time to time and the front width from king pin to king pin. so with the wider chassis you run your fronts more in and the narrower i run them more out. as for the rear. my question would be what tires are you running and how much grip does your track see.
i dont have alot of expereience with the MG yellow which is more popular in most series right now....but it is stickier and i find myself running softer axles than when we ran mostly Bridgestones. so if one chassis is supposed to be softer in the rear then that might be a better choice for the MG. but you can tune around it either way.
CRG makes a quality product and so do many other brands. so go with the least expensive chassis that has the leat time on it for the best deal. you usually cant go wrong with a CRG, Tony, or Birel. and yes there are still others that are good.
if you are new than go with the chassis closest to the other drivers so maybe you can get pointed in the right direction on set up for your track. IE front end set up/axle choice...
hope this helps? |

| First off 2008 was the year CRG swept Supernats in the Superpro category so it was a great chassis result wise. I had an 08 KT1 that got top 10 in Gatorz Rotax racing this year against 43 top drivers and it was my first year in rotax. If its between a 2011 and 2008 and if there is a decent price gap the 08 should be fine. From experience the 2012 have alot more grip than the other years. |
