|

I'm doing my first moto build which i'd rather not have blow up the first day out.. so i'm trying to double check everything. anyway i got these bearings from Fastech;
Main Bearings #6322 - NTN Polymide
they have what looks like seals on one side and i can't find info on which way they face.. can anyone point me in the right direction?
Also i've been reading on how to make the crank slip fit, i see honing the bearings and also putting the crank in a lathe and taking some off. What's the prefered method and is there a step by step info on how to do it?
thanks..
?Solved?
Ok, according to my local engine builder the seals face toward the crank.. but i ended up buying a set of honed bearings so i can slip fit without having to do any work, anybody want to buy these fancy bearings?

I'm not sure that I am right but have had no problems by installing bearing with open side to the case. _________________ Tom Barth

why in the world would you run two seals? use 63/22c3 or 63/22c4 bearings.
and don't slip fit your crank(do you really need to) vibration kills power and parts. |

If you are running the engine in stock moto class they must be the stock OEM bearings. And yes do slip fit the crank, not the bearings. Just polish the journals on a lath if you can a little at a time, just until the bearings slide on.

thanks..
i keep hearing arguments both ways on the slip fit crank, i'm leaning toward the slip fit.
i thought i read somewhere (probably this forum) that these bearings were legal and the ones to use?? i'm not sure if they are seals, they look like two bands inside the bearing. |

| Only stock bearings and seals are allowed in the Stock Honda clqass in either SKUSA or IKF. If you are running a Mod Honda -- no problem. |
