Is there a book on basic kart chassis setup? I am looking for info such as; what happens when you change caster/camber, how does it effect the handling. and so on.

Darren,
A good place to start is under the "Tech Talk" link on the main page of this site (not to be confused with the "Tech Hit" forum...). There are three or four articles there that should provide you with some information.
Good Luck,

Darren,
Steve Smith Autosports Books have a series on Karting and a chassis book is one of their volumes. It's about $18. Want one?

Andy, I thank you for the offer, but will pass at this point, I will get in touch with you in a few months prior to Christmas. I am looking for a present for a friend who will be starting karting next year.
Darren
P.S. any feedback on that Rib Protector yet? |

Darren,
Actually, we sold the one that we had. I guess that is the best feedback! Have Charlie call me please, I'd like some more.

As new karters my buddy and I picked up three of the Steve Smith books (Racing the KT 100, Driving Techniques, and the comlete karting book), and found them full of good, basic, information. |

| I don't know what type of racing you do but if its oval racing then probably the best information I've seen is the Phantom videos available from Wiggins Kart Shop. He has released 6 videos, the last four of which are part of their Top Secret Video Club. The four are titles something like the following: Camber and Castor, Scaling and Chassis Dynamics, Tire Temps, and Tires and Rims part 1. |
