I have my kart stripped down to the frame and I have taken my cylinder off my CR125 and I am trying to determine the year of it before I order a new piston and any other work. The only information I got from the previous owner is an invoice from Kokomo Honda from April 2006 that it was a "CR125 Kit" and then another invoice from CKT in May 2006 and one of the line items was "labor to build 125cc STOCK CLASS". No years or type of piston used or anything, just line items for PWK carb, pump around, trans job, pipe and silencer, j arm, etc. So it was obivously a stock build from CKT.

I was hoping to get some insight on the year of the cylinder. I have done about an hour of research on ekarting and only came up with two threads that really helped me.

http://ekartingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=50223&highlight=cr125+cylinder+year

That one stated "Anything 2000 or later will have an HPP cover only on the right side." Which my cylinder has HPP on both sides, so it is earlier than 2000.

The 7th post in that thread has a picture of a 98-99 cylinder and that is what my ports look like.

So I believe my cylinder is a 98-99, but I took a couple pictures and I'm hoping somebody can give me some good information. Thank you!

Pictures of my cylinder:

Looks identical to mine - which should be a 99. CKT just redid mine and gave me a Vertex piston kit.
