I converted my GP8 from Tag to shifter. It worked, but I would have saved money if I had sold it and bought the same kart with front brakes. Factor in your time and its definitely not worth it.

U will need to weld to the steering shaft for the shifter handle to fit. Its possible but people shy away from frames that are welded. I'm saying this because I looked into converting a tag to shifter and was quickly talked out of it due to cost and welding probably around 800 hundred for a kart shop to do. Good luck.

Power Source Racing (no longer in business) use to make a cool cable ship system that enabled you to convert a non shifter to a shifter, no welding required. Many guys actually preferred the system and installed it on karts set up with traditional shift systems.
I actually have one of the set ups you can have for free. The only catch is I don't have directions on how to set it up. A good mechanic could probably install it for you.

The system worked really well, much easier than the traditional system because the clutch and shift mechanism are all controlled by the right hand. This leaves the left hand available to steer in cases where you need to use the clutch and steer at the same time.

Let me know if you want the system - just pay freight and it is yours.

Yes, those look like the tabs you need in order to mount a shift lever.

So you're in luck, you've already got the two biggest obstacles taken care of when converting a TaG chassis to a Shifter: Front Brakes, and those shift lever tabs. Now you need the remaining parts that others have mentioned elsewhere: Shifter lever, shifter rod, clutch lever, clutch cable. You might need a 125cc steering wheel hub to mount the clutch lever on, Possibily even a new steering column, but that's less likely.

And of course the engine itself, and related parts.

Also, since you said you're currently running Rotax, you'll also going to need a radiator as well. I don't think the Rotax radiator will work in a shifter application, but I could be wrong.
