If I wanted to promote a product I would also sponsor the top drivers with my product rather than the bottom drivers. The answer will blow in the wind until one of the top drivers takes off his system and still win or not...
The fact that the top drivers use the system says nothing else than they may eat the same cereal or wear the same sun glasses in the pits.
Do we all become better golfers from buying Nike golf clubs like the Tiger? No Nike just wants us to believe so, so they paid Tiger to use Nike... _________________ 2012 Formula Car Challenge Vice Champion (Pro Formula Mazda)

Just as important as keeping the fuel up to the main jet, is ensuring that the fluids are kept up in the SWE pump systems drivers beer tent.

Yeah Jimmy, but if you use 10 cent tee you'll go just as fast and save a lot of weight. _________________ Tom Barth

| Quote: | | What is funny is before you ever saw or knew about this system I have been in talks with Mike and Tom K about disallowing it in stock honda. |
I doubt it. I had the first generation of this system on my kart months before the 2009 SuperNats. Speed wasn't racing stock honda at that time, he was in the KF class that year.
| Quote: | | If I can help someone with just a Zip tie than what is that any of your busness, |
I could have fixed that guys problem by shoving a $.05 piece of used chewing gum in the line. It would have fixed one problem but created another.
And when you get down to the cost of the system, after you buy the pumps and have a carb modified(for the pump around system), the ST system isnt that much more. If you want to run two different carbs throughout the year, you dont have to spend the $$$ to have them modified. You just bolt on a bone stock carb. Ive had a carb mod'd to a pump around that wouldnt perform properly after. Something to do with how the tube was inserted. Never an issue with the ST system
And while im on my rant, the new system is about 10% of the upkeep as the pump around. I use to take apart the pumps to clean them before every race. With the new system the pumps pulse inlet is facing down, any oil that gets into the system drains down out of the pumps.
This year, I pulled the lines off the pumps about 3 times all year to let the oil run out. The pumps were pulled apart one time.
You mentioned some of the top guys from back in the day that didnt use the ST system, they didnt have a choice, It wasn't out yet.
The current top drivers are using the system.
This new system is a big improvement over the old system, but hey if you want to continue to use the old stuff, go right ahead. Like I said, I hope my competitors do the same.

Tom I agree with you on one thing, the Dellorto carb is much nicer than the Keihin. Wish it was the carb chosen by the stock honda gods. |
