What is the best way to store a Briggs motor that will not be used for a few months? Should any special type of lubricants be used? Should the case be filled will oil as usual?

Flush the engine & carb by running it on gasoline. Then fog the engine with WD-40 just as it shuts down. roll the crankshaft over to the compression stroke to close the valves. Tape up the airhorn, header & fuel cap breather hole. Plug the Valve breather tube. Sit it on the shelf. Do not store with alky in the tank, you'll get "white-death" syndrome. The pickup tubes will possibly close up.

When you fire it first time after storage, Fill with 14oz of your favorite oil, turn motor upside down briefly to circulate oil to everything, pull over by hand a few times (without spark plug installed). Put an old plug in and fire it up. It will smoke for awhile but will soon clear out. Change your oil, put a new plug in and you're racing!
