| I have been using direct drive on my limited mod with real good results. I have used it on a tight 1/2 mile sprint track and a big 1 mile sprint. It cut my time on both tracks. Why doesn't more people use it? No clutch to work on or buy. I haven't blown up a motor with it on there yet, but I think the damage could be less with the direct drive when it does blow as I can stop the crank from turning with the brake, then again the crank might stop my kart at the wrong time also. Some one give it a try and tell use how you it worked for you. |

Just curious, do you have to push-start the kart?

Where do you get the direct drive with the 3/4" hole to fit the crankshaft.
Presently using it on the Yamaha and I'm interested in testing this on the honda.
What about starting? Do you still pull the starter cord or push to start?? |

We race with Rod, and yes, the kart gets a push-start (just like WOO - except the "push car" is a golf cart and not a pickup truck). I'm also surprised that no one else seems to be using direct drive. My son asked me to try the same setup, but I declined - scary thoughts if the motor decided to let go, and if you happen to spin out - more than likely it's "race over." He must be doing something right - he's the fastest 4-cycle at our track and really entertaining to watch race. |

| I got the last gears from ARC, but also have gotten them from industrial supply shops in the past. Wayne, entertaining to watch? I know what you mean because I have to sit in the seat. Just wish I had more limiteds to race against in Denver. |

| Darren and Mike, The last time out the pit kids burnt up my golf cart and I was still able to start it with a push from a pit kid. Try it you'll like it. In a competitive race if you spin you loose any way. |
