|
|
I am running a kt100 open race. The track is fairly slow (tight turns). I am currently running a bully 4 disc jackshaft clutch. I am wondering if anyone knows what pipe will work best. I am currently running an old L2.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

If you could tell us the exhaust port opening, in degrees ATDC, it woud help. You did say it's an open, right. This would slso help in giving us an idea where to slip the clutch. In general, the higher. the wider, the edhaust port, the more you need to slip the clutch.
The higher the Exhaust port, the shorter the pipe, in generel. _________________ If the data does not support the theory, get a new theory. (Al Nunley)

| I dont know the exhaust port opening. but I set my clutch to engage at around 10,300 rpm to match my peak torque. |

| You say you are running an open race, but is your motor "open" so to speak? Or are you running just a normal legal blueprinted Yammie and looking for pipe recommendations for it? |

L2 is one of the better overall pipes right now. When I used to sprint race our local track had some tight stuff. I did pretty good with an old now, but new then RLV "TP" pipe. I believe it was made for the PCR (P50 maybe) piston port engine. The thing had great low end torque when used on the yammie. Probably still got it in a box somewhere.
If you are looking for a better mouse trap they are out there. You just have to test, test ,test till you find what works best. |

I ran very well with an RLV 90* small can 200 pipe. Sounds good too ! _________________ Began kart racing 1959. Made many friends along the way. |

| I guess what I am specifically looking for a pipe that has a strong power band between 10,300 and 14,600 for a KT100 |

| You are asking for a pipe that works over a very broad rpm range. The L2 is pretty much designed for what you are asking of it. |
