Pretty close if you ask me. A 12 year old 37hp stock dirt bike engine vs the baddest latest and greatest kart engines on the planet.

I spent a little time with Jimmy during the event. He told me this "I braked at the the end of the straight and the kart twitched a little into the corner. The steering wheel was neutral so I just let the kart steer itself through the corner. Wow! what a great feeling. I wonder if that's how the 'big boys' do it?"

It was great meeting you Tom. I only did a corner like that once in the race, not sure if it was fast but it sure felt cool.

Great job Moulton, well deserved victory. Wish I hadn't crashed out so we could have battled it out in the main. Maybe next year.

Thanks SKUSA for a great event. It just gets better and better.
Cant wait till next year.

I'm fairly confident in saying that bald Swedish guy in Wilton can hold his own against anyone. Cool

"Red State" you need to get some more funding and give them furriners a run for their money next year in Super Pro.

The property wouldn't make that much to move the concessions out to the paddock to make it advantageous so they would do it but then Tom would have to commit to a minimum amount of sales to make that happen. There could be permitting issues, I don't know. Typically for the resort to do something like that they'll want to make sure that they can turn enough profit to make it worth while or have the event/meeting pick up the tab.

That's funny since there a business is involved with gambling. That's the chance we all take when we hit a casino floor.

For that last decade or so the revenue balance has been shifting so that the majority comes from non gaming revenue, or NGR. It's common for folks outside the business to think that gaming is the significant revenue driver. It isn't the largest part but still a very important piece though is the piece with the greatest profit margin.

One key metric for determining the performance for a specific property or group of properties is revenue per available room, or RevPAR. Here is a link to "some company I know".... Wink http://www.hotelnewsnow.com/articles.aspx/5477/MGM-Resorts-reports-16-RevPAR-gain-on-Strip and you can see RevPAR is up even though gaming is down. This particular group is losing money due to a massive debt load from a new property that has had significant issues and over runs for the life of the project. Depending on the brand NGR now accounts for 60%-65% of the revenue of the resort. If you are on the gaming floor you'll get free drinks and your play could go for, among other things, free food. However, in the parking lot there is no incentive and if they can't make money on it they want a buy in to make sure they do. I could tell you how I know this but I don't want to end up in a corn field in Indiana... Laughing

Brian Fisher put on a great show coming from 16th to 7th in S4, one bad heat put him there, would liked to have seen Brian start up front. I think he would have had something for the leaders.

Ya Dave I understand your point just seems odd there was no vender for food. From what I read on here that is. Still a great show.

I heard Rob call out his name more than once and it was fun to listen to him going through the field. DRs set some fast lap times.

It was nice seeing Dan Wheldon's name in the Tag Senior practice and race results.

When I first saw it I was a little freaked but then realized it was a nice tribute to him having it there whether it was planned or unintentional.

Never met the man but through what I saw about him from on ekn and in general in racing coverage, I know I would have like him if I did get the chance to meet him.

Hey All

What was entry cost per class for last year supernats? Was told that you pay for 1 or 2 sets of tires with entry?

I am running G1, TAG Master and may even do S4 if I can get fit enough and classes have at least 1 race in between, any one have an idea on what the entries would be?

Thanks
Ben

$425 Pre-Race entry for one class
$645 3 sets of tires (1 practice set)
$75 4 gallons fuel w/ oil
$75 10 x 25 pit spot
$600 7 nights in a bad ass room at the rio

this was from 2011 supernats
I'd say if you're concerned about getting your entries in for this year you need to visit superkartsusa.com religiously from May on. I seriously doubt that any of the classes will be completely filled up by skusa regulars. Any classes that may get filled are usually the classes that get expanded to fields of 80. So long as you don't drag your feet you'll get in.
