It looks different in both T1 and the west "infield" section near pre grid. I'm heading to the theater in a bit and will grab more pics. The 4G on the Strip is really congested and I was having a hard time uploading pics.
Is Dave Harwin running? I got out of the kart after I ran in 2008. Now I'm racing things that I don't out weigh. _________________ It's a cross between a chick car and a shifter kart

Yup, still searching for that illusive win. Thanks for the photos and updates Dave! |

I stopped by and got some more shots, track is starting to take shape. Unfortunately my work provided MacBook has iPhoto stripped off and I can't get the pics from NEF to Flickr right now. The first three-four turns are done. It's different. I'll post some when I get home tonight.
On edit: Just put a few more up. Heading over in a bit to see the complete track. Layout looks great. _________________ It's a cross between a chick car and a shifter kart

The layout will be different. Thought I saw a version floating around the web (Twitter/Facebook) end of last week, can't seem to find it now though. _________________ Website Designs - http://www.godesigns.us |

Track is done, teams are coming in. got to walk the track but didn't have the right lens to get shots that close. Got some others though. Surface is good, not big divots as in years past to repair. Paddock has been expanded, they basically take the entire lot now plus a bit of the employee lot.
Here is the overview. Click the pic and go to the Flickr to see a RAW image of the pics. I'm putting more up as we speak.

Really excited for this next week! Ran in all our engines today despite the bad weather here in grand junction. Maxters feel awesome compared to what I had last year. Leaving tomorrow at 5 am expecting to be in Vegas by noon. Can't wait! See you all there _________________ Nick Johnston |

Those first few corners are definately going to seperate the contenders and the pretenders, especially in TaG. Hopefully everyone keeps a cool head about them and doesn't try to win the race from 20th on the first lap in turn one _________________ Git-R-Done! |

Seems like it may be easy to block going into turn one. Hopefully it doesn't result in more carnage.
...or it may encourage passing; it depends on where the natural spot for your class will be to pass down the straight. _________________ Aluminos

EKN Trackside Live: Monday Set-up and Track Test
Hello race fans!
The SuperNationals are now unofficially underway, as move-in and track testing has begun. In keeping with the growth of this event, the excitement is also at an all-time high, as trailers have been arriving much earlier. The entire paddock is already setting up, as the rental tents were all completed yesterday. Team are unpacking their trailers and building new karts for the event, and everyone is just flat-out fired up.
Many people took the opportunity to walk the track, which is much more technical this year. SKUSA Tom Kutscher took numerous test laps around the circuit in one of his rental karts. Phil Giebler turned some laps to help get the track finalized, and a few adjustments will be made to tighten up the race line of few sections of the course. The primary focus is on safety, the second being raceability.
I jumped behind the wheel for a few laps myself and I think the track rocks. I think the new layout will increase the importance of the driver and chassis set-up, as there are a couple of tighter sections. The long backstraight remains, as does the basic layout of the first three corners. It is the second half of the track that sees the most change, as a new tight hairpin has been added. All in all, I think it's going to be a great track with at least five or six solid passing opportunities.
Preparations will continue to tomorrow, ahead of the first practice sessions on Wednesday morning. The forecast is now promising sunny skies with temps in the high 60s, which will be very comfortable. The weekend is looking to be a little cooler. When we go into the night sessions, the chassis set-up will need to change as the temps could drop into the low 50s or high 40s. It will be interesting for sure. _________________ Rob Howden
