Used racing stuff is generally worth about half new in good condition. The value of broken engines depends on what parts are still good and how many people want them. Generally used parts from broken engines are considered scrap unless somebody who really knows them can inspect and verify there isn't any hidden damage. The consequence of having something break that could have been replaced is pretty high, and usually labor is the biggest expense in repairing race engines.
Brad Linkus at engines4racing.com should be able to give you an idea of repair costs.
