If you could pick one racetrack in the U.S. to race on.....

What racetrack (road course) do you think would be (or is) the most fun to road race on?

For me, I think that would have to be either Laguna Seca or maybe Road Atlanta.

In Europe, I would probably pick Brands Hatch...

I would say Laguna, because of how technically challenging it can be.

Laguna Seca's great, and I'd love to drive Road America, but it all comes down to one track - it's not a road course.

I feel Grattan here in Michigan is the most challenging course I have been on. I love Road America though. From what I have heard though, VIR is very challenging. I haven't been there yet though.

Id Say Grattan for being chalenging but I love Gateway for its pure speed.

If you've been there, it's hard to not pick Road America! I can't wait till next year! Of course, that's coming from the 125 gearbox perspective. I haven't talked to a lot of people from the slower classes, but there are always a lot of 4 strokes out there...

Well, of all the tracks I've driven (in 20 plus years), I think my favorite would be Westwood in B.C. Canada - unfortunately it no longer exists . Of the tracks that still exist, Road America would probably top the list, with Sears Point close behind.

Of those I have not yet driven, I think Laguna Seca tops my wish list.

Virginia International Raceway (VIR) is a very nice track to race at, along with Road America. Laguna Seca would definately be fun though.

I'd have to agree with Tim: Westwood in B.C. was my all-time favorite.

Sears Point and Willow Springs backwards (before there were so many rules )would be close behind.

I would have to vote for Road Atlanta. There
was a great exhibition race held there during a Busch Grand National stock car weekend back in the 80's. The karts had to qualify for starting positions for the 20 minute race, which was just before the NASCAR main event on Sunday. Pretty cool with all the fans in the stands. I remember Randy Fulks and Rick Williams, on the front row, would have been about mid-pack starters for the Busch race based on their qualifying times.
Anyway, that was my only trip to Road Atlanta. By far my most memorable racing weekend--what a track!

Road America for the scenery but Road Atlanta is by far my favorate. Shooting out under the bridge and down the hill is better than any roller coaster. Probably not as much fun since they took took out the gravity dip. The Charlotte (excuse me, Lowes Motor Speedway) road course is the best for speed.

Before they "tamed" the esses at teh top of the roller coaster, VIR was the only track Ted came in from running and said he scared himself outhere.

Grattan would be next, then Mid-Ohio. All of these tracks require a package. Got to have a strong engine, well set-up chassis, and a skillful driver to do well at.

Would like to try some of the west coast tracks someday. Have never seen a roval I care for.

VIR for sure. It feels like an oversized sprint track, laid on the side of a mountain. After coming down the roller coaster, I knew that I needed a tighter seat after holding myself in when the world fell away below me. There are no "boring" sections! The only long straight on the north course is downhill and kinked.

I'm looking forward to checking out RA next year, but would love to see that type of particpation here in the east.

Laguna would be pretty cool too.
