Fellow Rotaxians...
I haven't seen anyone else post this information, so I thought it might be helpful for everyone to see. This is an e-mail I received right from the people at SSC:
quote: Here goes: Effective as of today's date, the deadline for all Rmax Challenge
drivers
CURRENTLY QUALIFIED to attend the Grand Nationals is Friday, October 4,
2002.
After that date, all other Rmax drivers with VERIFIABLE Regional Rmax Series
points
will be invited to register for the Nationals.
Registrations after the 10/4 deadline will be done on a first come, first
serve basis up to a maximum of 100 spaces in the International Class, 50 in
the Masters, and 50 in the Juniors.
Why? The reason is simple. This year's race is going to be a major event.
The most exciting, fun and competitive karting nationals ever. With outside
social activities that are as much fun as the race itself. It's going to be
big. Really big. And we want everyone that wants to participate to have this
opportunity.
Truth is, we of course want those that have qualified under the rules to
have priority over those with fewer points. That said, it is only fair to go
deeper in the field if any of those in the top 8 choose not to attend.
THE DEADLINE FOR EARLY REGISTRATION IS OCTOBER 14. The registration fee
after that date will be $750. Only cashier's checks and credit cards will be
accepted after this date.
Another important note: 2002 Rmax Competition Licenses and valid U.S. engine
passports will be required to participate in the GNC. Drivers should not
wait until the last minute on this. THESE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THE RACE.
Thank you for all of your help and support.
Steve
I would suggest anyone with questions or comments call the powers that be at SSC...

Just wanted to clarify a point to some individuals that may be waiting until the last minute to register. According to SSC they will only be accepting 100 International, 50 Masters, and 50 Juniors entries. Some folks e-mailed me wondering why SSC was trying to make MORE money by allowing more people to go. From what I have been told so far, they are not allowing more people to enter, they are allowing only the 200 entries listed above and that the initial invitees are the people who did best in their region.
Hope this clears any confusion up...
