I'm very interested in the R-Max kart but live in NC where there are no sprint tracks only roadracing courses, VIR, Lowes, Road Atlanta. What is the typical # of R-Max karts running roadracing for a weekend?
Thanks Brad

Brad:

The WKA National Road Racing Series has averaged about 6 entries per event. We transported 2 to 3 entries to every event this year, beginning with Daytona. There've been lots of lookers with lots of questions, but very few takers. We've marketed the package in the New England area, where we're located, and have had 12 to 16 entries per race @ NHIS.

Our customers have really enjoyed running the Rotax Max @ tracks like Kershaw, VIR, Summit Point and Mid Ohio, despite the low entries. There are no other active Max Centers on the east coast that have gotten involved w/ the WKA road race program, most likely beacause they don't even know that there's a WKA long track Max class! There are plenty of active Max racers in Florida and New York racing on sprint tracks.

There are no Max Centers, that I'm aware of, from Georgia to Pennsylvania (a great opportunity for someone w/ some marketing skill!) If Rotax Max survives as a WKA road racing class, the ranks could grow rapidly. However, it appears that political pressure and indecision are going to doom the Max before it ever gets off the ground. A shame for an organization that needs to attract new road racing karters with an established, user friendly concept like Rotax Max. Yes, there are other, equally good (or better) engine packages out there, but they aren't sealed (perception is critical), and they aren't as well established.

There are others like yourself ,in the southeast, who have inquired about road racing the Max. I sold a race ready package to a gentleman in S. Carolina earlier this year, who plans to road race it. Let's hope that the Max class remains a stand alone, sealed engine class in the WKA road racing series.

Brad,

When we race at Roebling Road in Savannah, GA we get about 5-10 entries at those events. The next race is Oct 12th & 13th. If you are interested in making the trip, we may have a rental Rotax available. Send me an Email for schedule details, or call if you have any questions...

On the West coast we have averaged 6 karts. Thunder Hill is Sponcering the IKF Grand nationals next year and a Rotax rules package for this race has been given to IKF. It should be very accessable for the Sprint racers.
