Hey Rod,
Has hanging out by us and A.J. in the pits gotten to ya?
I never thought I would see the day that the
Master of the Potatoe Diggers, the Captain of Cryro, the King of 4 Stroke would consider
a Rotax! (By the way, what would a Rotax do it it was Cryro'ed?).
If you are jumping ship, Welcome Aboard!
Are you bringing Criag with you?

No, I am not hanging up the Four stroke stuff. I just might have an opportunity to rent a ride while escorting a nother driver and kart to Vegas. Couldn't see going there with out something to race.
Dave, I wont have time to put one on ice before Vegas, I have Cryo treated completely assembled motors before, but it's not the right way to gain the Cryo advantage.
Heck, I have been high marken and maken avalanches with a 100 horse Rotax for a few years.
It would be nice if the four strokes had rottory valves instead of them springs and valves and lifters. But hay, they're only 300 bucks what do ya expect.

Thanks Nick, for the link. Well, scatch that idea, the way I read it I have to compete locally to qualify to race it, unless they field isn't filled. Plus the 6-800 bucks to enter one race, I don't think so. At that rate if it were a Briggs race they could afford to give every competitor a new motor. I still will go to see all the hoopla, but I will give my money to the slots instead.

The Entry fee money is actually pretty well justified based on what I saw last year. For $500 we got:

(2) sets Bridgestone tires ($340)
Lunch every day for mechanic and I ($30)
Pit passes for mechanic and I ($30
Transponder use/rental ($40)
Pit space with supplied canopy ($40)
Track time for me ($30/day x 3 =$90)
Awards Banquet for Mechanic and I ($30)
Free stuff (Rotax Shirt, Hat, Vega tire bag $50)

Of course if they do away with any of that we will be a little upset this year...

Mike,

Not sure there was prize money last year. I think I remember that some guys received motors and other prizes. The money factor should be the last reason any of us go to Vegas though. It's a nice thing to win, but turning it into a money race may work against itself. I take it you and Junior will be there? Did you get your repairs done yet? And if so, are you all 'broke-in'?

Hey Nick..the RMaxChallenge site says we get one set of tires. I have heard that the 2nd set is given out before the prefinal. What happens if you don't make the pre-final? Is there are B main for everyone else, do they get a 2nd set of tires? What if you blow up, get crashed in the heats, do you still get the 2nd set of tires to take home?

Last year the top 32 qualifiers from the A,B,C,D heats all transferred to the Pre-Final. Those that were unfortunate enough to have problems in the Heat Races had a 'Consi' race on Saturday morning. The top 8 finishers from the consi race transferred to the Pre-Final in positions 33-40.

Pre-Final qualifiers were all given the other set of Bridgestones on Friday evening to mount for Saturday use. The 'Consi' winners got theirs immediately after that race on Saturday morning.

Yes Nick,

We'll be there. And I don't care if they give us anything. I just want a chance for Jr. to race with the big boys.

We've got a great group who's going I think.

See you there. And I think we're back on top again. We got rained out last race. We'll see what happens saturday.
