| I believe it will be an all inclusive TaG (touch and go)class including Parilla Leopard, The new Vortex, Sonic and Tax. |

Sounds interesting. If this does happen, would they try to achive parity between the engines by using something such as weight? I know that the Parilla can be faster than the Rotax. Can they actually make all the engines competitive with one another?
I'd like to see Rotax in the Manf. Cup in some way... |

Mike,
The other thing to remember is that ALL of the WKA stuff takes place in Daytona this year. So even if the WKA has nothing planned for the Manufacturer's Cup, you could always come run with me and the guys on the 'High Banks' of the Rolex Course...
All you would have to do is change the front sprocket and your rear gear...

Nick:
Let's hope you're right. There are some associated with the WKA that want their Max long track class rules to vary significantly from the Max Challenge rules. The only variation @ present is allowing any brand of tire, as long as they're 7.10 x 5 rears and 4.50/4.60 x 5 fronts.
There also is a distinct possibility that other "similar" engine packages (unsealed) will be raced and scored with the Rotax. This is a major concern for those who are currently racing their Max's in the WKA National Enduro Series.
I and others believe that these engines should run with the Rotax, but be scored seperately, at least until performance variations are clealy understood. To lump them together, even with weight adjustments, will kill the class.
Nick, I encourage you to bring as many Rotaxians as possible to Daytona to run on the big track. Lobby with the powers @ WKA to leave the class per the Max Challenge rules. The guys from my area (New England) who ran the full series this year had a blast, especially on the traditional road race circuits. If the parity of the racing is threatened, they won't be back. |
