Lots different. Better? Matter of opinion (or setup) I guess but it came in 3rd in its first WSK race. No mean feat. _________________ GPI Racing | WildKart | Maxter | Hoosier

Seems like the TM KZ10 is the engine to have at even a world level now. I suppose it will take some time for the MXS Maxter to catch up but my guess is that it will. Yeah, the Modena has already had some good runs. _________________ http://bridgemanbroskarting.blogspot.com/

Steve what KZ/ICC motors do you have. I cant give you specific info on the track, but I have a series of gear calc sheets for KZ/ICC motors here: http://www.overt.ie/files/racing/technical/motor/gearcalc/
They do the same thing as the gearcalc sheet John Denman made for CR125 but each are setup for the specific gearing of your motor.[/quote]
Jim,
I have a K9B. Thanks for the ratio chart. Someone had mentioned in an earlier post that for a stock Honda, the ratio should be a 1.29.... Would that apply to a K9B also? I would think that there are different torque and power curves between the two, which would mean two different gear ratios right?
Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm brand new to this.....
Hey Mike, would I qualify for the "rookie" running? I would think that running one exhibition race last year would not count me out. It may mean the difference between running 3 or 4 races this season, lol |

Not really, like you say they both have different power charicteristcs as well as different gear ratios. The K9 will rev a bit higher too. You could however work out the top speed for the stocker from the gearing that someone gave you and guesstimate your K9 gearing with a peak RPM of say 13,800 in 6th.
Failing that, take the moto gear, drop a tooth of the back sprocket and see how it run. _________________ GPI Racing | WildKart | Maxter | Hoosier

I would really like to see an OVRP date. I know there may have been a glitch or two with the races in the past, but it is probably the most centralized track for the drivers, Tim has been a supporter from day one and the place is a blast to drive. Jmo _________________ STOCK HONDA SODI KART

No Friday Practice |
I understand that WKC's hands are tied in this matter. When it comes to full-size road racing tracks, they can only accept whatever dates Summit Point are willing to give them; and they can't just schedule a practice day at the track on a whim.
Although I'm hoping that they'll be enough morning practice time before the races. I'm still not certain whether I'll be at the first race or not. But regardless, I know it'll be the first time at Shenandoah for a bunch of people, and we'll be effectively "flying blind" so to speak. So we could really use the practice time to get acquainted to the circuit, especially a relatively high-speed track like this one. _________________ C. Skowron

Folks, at the bottom of the WKC website, there are two videos posted. The blue kart with white gloves is Shenandoah from last season. It's in a Leopard, so it's about 10 sec a lap slower, but at least you'll see where the track goes.
Hope that helps-- a little anyway!
