EKN Trackside - Rotax Challenge of the Americas CalSpeed

It's the final weekend - as the first four tickets to the 2013 Rotax Grand Finals will be awarded Sunday following the final two rounds of competition in the Rotax Challenge of the Americas program. The premier west coast winter series heads to Fontana, California to take on the CalSpeed Karting circuit - outside the Auto Club Speedway.

The champions of the Senior Max, DD2, DD2 Masters, and Junior Max categories will be awarded a ticket to the Rotax Grand Finals in New Orleans in November. For Masters Max, Mini Max and Micro Max - the champions will earn a paid entry to their respective country's Rotax Grand Nationals. Also, the driver who earns the most points during the CalSpeed weekend in Mini and Micro will earn spots in the Rotax Grand Finals Invitational race.

EKN will be live from Fontana all weekend, with audio streamed to the EKN Live page - www.ekartingnews.com/live

EKN TRACKSIDE: FRIDAY PRACTICE

The track is hot for the final two rounds of practice here in Fontana. The winds have returned and are strong, while the sun continues to pop in and out of the clouds. A few rain drops are falling after rain hit the track this morning. EKN Live will broadcast the final practice sessions at 2:30pm PST. Here is the order for the weekend:

Matt,
I'm surprised to say that we had two days of dry track! The weather forecast was for very wet, and somehow we dodged it. We had a bit of hail in the am, and a sprinkle ot two, but we never lost the track. Itwas a bit windy and way too cold for So. Cal.
Our tuner from Salt Lake City said he should have sayed home where it was warmer Wink

I blamed him on bringing the weather south with him.
Sat should be dry (however a bit cool) and sunday is looking to be dry and 72 degrees.
