Look up Robert Lawson, I believe he had something like this setup on his Vortex.

I also believe that some of the gas-gas 250's run an electric pump too.

I've used this before and sold it to Jeff DeMello on this forum who uses it on his ICC 125cc. PM Jeff if this link is not enough and got further questions.

It works great on my F125. Sam I was hoping you saw this as I'm in Philly working and couldn't get the info on my pump.

Hey Jeff that looks like the awesome set up. Is it variable speed? Since I race my ICC with all those honda guys who and put the kart on the ground and sit still warming up the motor.

So now I could do the same right?

The Davies-Craig pump is not variable speed, you really don't need it. This unit really works well and I use them on every kart I build.

3.4ah 12v battery. Perfect size (about 2 1/2" X 2 1/4" X 6")and it will run this pump for 70 minutes. Batteries Plus, Battery Outfitters, etc. Cost is about $20.

Can anyone post a picture with the unit installed battery components and all?

Also, does the pump operate at one continuous speed at all times? i.e. for instance does it spin at the same speed when you are sitting idle vs. going flat out, or is there some sought of sense, or pulse line that detects increase rpm off of the coil wire so that it would spin faster or slower?

Constant speed. It's not controlled by anything other than an on/off switch. Personally, I use them with an IAME Leopard inlne thermostat. No taping off the rad, quick warmup, etc. Variable speed is not needed.
To warm up the motor before you go out, just let it idle. When it gets warm, turn on the pump. When you drive it, the t-stat modulates to keep the water temp 130deg. I drill more bypass holes in the t-stat to make it react quicker during warmup.
Don't overthink it!

I have looked at the little bypass hole many times but why has the light bulb never lit up to drill more or bigger hole in it. I guess I must have other things more pressing on my mind at the time.
Thanks Brian for giving me a slap across the back of the head, stooge style, I'll be doing that mod myself now. Will also make it easier/quicker to bleed the air out of the water system. Wink
Cheers.
