Hello, I have bought a birel shifter kart (2010), and in my 2nd testing attempt I got into some problems. I crashed out a bit, but nothing serious, I spun on the track, and went out, resulting in touching the barriers (but as said, nothing serious, just a bit of a touch with right tyre, not sure with which one).
I put the kart back on track, and since then the front brakes did not brake equaly. Left one brakes less then the right one.
This has happened few months back, in the meantime, I tried all thats possible to fix the issue, but with no luck.
1st bled the front brakes (and many times later), changed the seal in the main cylinder, swapped braking pads and discs beteen each other - and the problem still exists on the left side.

I have read this thread: http://www.ekartingnews.com/viewtopic.php?p=192292&sid=6ed2e7588bbd5fe680f209b1165dfd3a.

---
There is no visual damage of any kind on the brakes, no air in lines (I hope), no oil leaking, lines are ok (then bleading the oil goes through both equally).
But its true, that calilers do not travel the same distance (the left one travels less, then the right one), and from beginning (if I left the kart for a while alone) it looks like it has a difficulty with traveling out.

---
But I did not repalce both calipers between each other (yet). This is what I have to do, but its still strange why there is a difference.

There sure has something to do with my crashing out, but I cannot find any reasonable explanation.

Do you guys know of any kind?

thx,
Mitja

Hello Mitja.
A chronic problem like you describe is best addressed by a complete disassembly and review of your front braking system. Look at this as an opportunity to learn about your brakes. Carefully review every part to both understand what it does and how it might be the problem with your system.
You're likely to find: leaks, warn seals, warn/scored cylinders and water/dirt in the fluid.
The more you know the faster you go and the less work you'll be at a loss for what's happening with your kart.

Thx Greg, this is exactly what Iam gonna do. I know how the brake works, and how they are assambled, but there must be something worn out, else this would not have happened.
But strange thing here is, that there is no leaking what so ever, no watter in the fluid, because I put at least a liter of it through hoses.
And if there is no leaking of any kind, and only oil inisde hoses and cilinders, thing should work 100% - but I apparentlly it does not. And this is what confuses me - because there is nothing wrong, but it still doesn`t work as it should.

I was just hoping if any of you guys here have encountered on such an issue.
