Like TJ mentioned earlier, Speeds coverage was amazing compared to that of Nascar and even worse...Indycar. |

If I recall correctly the actual video footage for everyone is the same, using the feed from F1 the only difference is the commentators.
Granted the commentating is dumbed down slightly in the US to appeal to the non hard core F1 fans. I would not call it bad by any means though. |

All I can say is I wish I could get a BBC license, or some way to watch BBC broadcast... here in the states our race coverage just sucks in general now of days.
Speed is just too concentrated on mud drags, swamp races, monster trucks and other trashy "motorsports"
No one really does a good job covering GT, V8 supercars, F1, LeMans, etc...
I am SOOO sick of it! |

Also, there are many good VPN services that allow for watching BBC broadcasts. |

| NBC Sports coverage starts March 16th. So much for giving us live coverage of practice. It is not to early to start complaining. I have searched anyone have contact info so we can let NBC know we are not happy? |

Go to the link to NBC Sports, provided in your post; once you watch the commercial, the feedback link is activated. You can email your comments re practice. Results may vary . . . _________________ mark waller |

| Remember, folks, it's not so much that NBC wanted F1 as Speed (Fox) didn't want it anymore. So, those of us who were hoping for improved coverage, let alone an improvement, really shouldn't be holding their breath. |

This is made obvious by the fact that Speed is no longer a premium channel, and NBC sports is!
Looks like I just lost all "televised" coverage of F1.... I guess I have to watch BBC stream on the laptop....
No offense guys, but I am starting to really dislike the "general" american public. Dont get me wrong, I am born raised, and will die an american. However, The general public, who think football is the best sport in the world, and Nascar is the premier auto racing, are killing it for me! Look at the superbowl, there is no other event in the world that decides an entire season champion off of a single game! World Series, no, Stanley cup, no, Auto racing, no....
However, dont take this comment as an insult, I love you fellow Karters ... most of you. |

A favorite quote:
Bottom line...a culture that can't grasp "slower traffic keep right" is not fertile ground for the growth of sophisticated forms of motor racing. If you live here and you "get" it, savor your place among the enlightened few, but don't expect the guys around the water cooler to share your appreciation of the German Touring Car series. - Dave Despain _________________ #8 CRG JWR Maxter

Was watching some strange form of racing the other day where the drivers sit on top of 2-wheel machines that THEY power... I know, totally weird, I think it was called "cycling" or something, but it was on NBC and they had an ad for F1 coverage starting the 16th or whatever. The ad at least made it look like NBC cared about F1, so it might not be terrible. Let's wait and see. _________________ T.J. Koyen

That's what I'm most worried about.
I don't need to hear the IndyCar broadcast team's favorite phrases:
Every pitstop that happens - "The red tires are softer so they'll give more grip but won't last as long. The black tires are harder so they won't be as grippy but will last longer."
And of course the constant explanations of oversteer and understeer.
Matchett, Hobbs, and Varsha did that a bit, but I Matchett's knowledge was pretty in-depth so I actually was learning something when he spoke usually. _________________ T.J. Koyen
