I know there are a few clubs that run all shifters together, KZ, open moto, and stock moto. I am interested in knowing what weights they use for the different packages. Not interested in what everyone thinks they should be, just want to know what is actually being used and if it is successful.

Thanks

Why is stock moto 20 pounds heavier than KZ with the horsepower deficit? I'm guessing you don't run them in the same class?

I'm looking for weight rules that are running all three engine formats heads up in the same class on a sprint track. I thought there was a club in Texas that did it, but not sure.

MKC (eau claire, MN) runs Stock at 385 and Mod/KZ/ICC at 415.
This year I believe CES will allow stock to run at 375 with Mod/KZ/ICC at 385. Last year they both ran 385

Majority of the stock moto guys in that class are over 400lbs on the scale. By increasing the weight, it levels the playing field in that class. This was not our choice, but more of a choice that the class wanted.

I think the answer depends on where you race. From SIMA:

Stock – Moto, Honda & TM Tag ICC (385 lbs) Modified Honda, ICC, TM Cross (410lbs)

If you are trying to achieve same lap times, then 10-20 lbs difference should do the trick, but it is track specific.

Those are the weights we run in Tri-Cities, Jim. Do you know if the NW Gold Cup is broken down the same way?

SPEC TIRE: Hoosier MMXA
Air box Mandatory
Stock TMK9ES - 395lbs
Stock Honda – 405 lbs
Built Moto/ICC – 420 lbs
*Per WKA Chassis Rules

That's copied straight from the MMX rules for the upcoming season. All shifters will run together in "open shifter".
