Just wanted to share this with everyone. This is a a popular engine package in the UK. Would be really cool to see this here in North America.

SKUSA introduced the Vortex Mini ROK 60cc engine package for the Cadet class a couple of years ago. The biggest difference that I see is that the Mini ROK has an onboard starter where the Gazelle is a pull start. Perhaps there are other major differences as well...

FWT also introduced the Mini RoK engine package in the FWT Formula Kart Racing program three years ago. VERY competitive racing. First round of 2013 FWT Formula Kart Racing program featured 40 in the category. Very Happy

We're researching the idea of allowing several motors into the category next year, like the WSK series does in Europe. But.........I'm a big fan of single make racing....... so I will have to be convinced it makes sense.

So far our Leopard/X30/Rotax only TaG Jr and Sr classes are working extremely well, so it is a possibility.

No question the electric start is a big plus for the Vortex, etc, IMO. If I were a parent I wouldn't let me child race a kart without it. IAME has an electric start version of that motor. Lot's of Easy Kart 60's (same motor basically) here in Florida looking for a place to race, too. Very Happy

I saw this class compete for the first time @ Phoenix last night. To say that I was amazed would be an understatement. These kids were Flyin' Low ! The performance from these engines is nothing shot of incredible.

For the life of me, I will never understand why the Briggs and Clones run a restrictor in their stock engines for Jr's to race.

The 60cc TaG racers are just as young and THESE are the kids who will make it to the big time in Auto Racing if they choose. They prove that kids CAN drive HP ! v Cool

That's easy. So they're not faster than the Senior Briggs and Clones. Shocked
