Just got a shifter and going through it. I'd like to have these hoses go into a catch-can of some sort. Anyone have a pic of how they do this?
TIA...Todd

Run them up the carb as you see in photo. Cut a small notch at the very top of both hoses to vent. The yellow markers are for water hoses. |

| Routing the vent lines up will keep it from making a mess and will run ok but is not optimal. The carb was designed to run the vent lines down. |

Like I said, it will run ok with the lines up like you suggested.
If he wants to run the vent lines down as they were intended, he can run them into a catch can.
Or yes Steve, he can do what almost all the top pro's do and buy a fuel system that solves the problem |

Thanks. Just got the kart so not at the "pro level" yet and would rather make do with the setup I have now. Catch can was what I was thinking - just wanted to see how people did it if they did so that way... |

| If your just starting out and not concerned about getting that last .01 doing what Steve suggested will work fine. |

Make sure you do not place the black vent hose coming out of the case into the same catch bottle.
It can syphon the over flow back into the transmission/clutch area. |
Oh snap!! I just finished routing all my vent lines to a catch can and put the carb overflow and the crankcase vent in the same bottle! Maybe I'll just shorten the black hose so it will not be immersed in the fuel overflow. |

When you want to empty it, you simply lift up and unscrew the bottom part of the bottle, no need to pull the lines out. Make sure you have a extra hole in the top so that the bottle/lines can breathe.

Todd, have you driven the kart with that catch can? I was wondering how many laps you could go before it was full.
The reason I ask, a few years ago I had a similar set up, it would fill up in less than 12 laps. After a 20 lap main, my kart was dripping with pre-mix and my fellow competitors were not happy.
Im wondering if thats the norm or if mine was unusually bad. |
